Loved the George story 🩵 Team sports are SO important and such a fundamental part of our growth, I believe. I had tears reading your story ~ such a proud mama moment 🥹

Also, you’re gonna have to try that protein soda for all of us 😉 xo

Love this George story 🩷 my 8 year old, Carter had his soccer playoff game this past Saturday. The game ended with a tie and his age group does a “shoot off” at the end and the team that scores the first goal wins. Our team lost due to one of our players missing the goal. This kiddo was upset and carter said to him “it’s ok. It could’ve been anyone that missed that goal. You did great”… his sweet soul is so inspiring. This is advice that we can all take with us in life. It reminded me of the quote “you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take”. Whether or not we make it in the goal, the most important thing is that we tried. 💙

My 9 year old is on a swim team and swam two events in his first meet on Saturday, improving on his practice times.

Dinner time convo: how everyone on the team contributes by showing up to practice, focusing, and working to improve on their times. “If everyone does their part, the team wins”.

I love this SO much! Childhood sports are so powerfully formative. And as a 46yro adult, I continue to learn so much watching my kids navigate training and competitions, too. 🩵

I’d love to see this “sassy subreddit on perimenopause”…. The link right now goes to a Drunk Elephant article. :-)

Thank for your beautiful ode to your goalkeeping son- my guy has been a keeper since age 8 and is now almost 15. We are coming off of a weekend with 3 tense games and I continue to be in awe of his resilience on that line, and how he gets back up and shakes it off to get ready for the next shot. I also love to watch these boys support each other, where a reassuring pat on the shoulder from a teammate can make all the difference. But I do feel the goalie mom stress every game! You captured so much in those few paragraphs, I will be re-reading and sharing!

Thank you so much for reading, Kara! And for the kind words. Goalie moms...we gotta stick together. I love how much we can learn from our kiddos, and on the sidelines.

Definitely going to check out that subreddit on perimenopause and I haven’t stopped thinking about those lululemon slides since you last posted about them. I’ve been wearing my Hoka slides for the past 3 years and comfortable as they are, they’re ugly as hell!

Enjoy the Reddit rabbit hole! And I wear those slides approximately 1/2 of every day. :)
